Superman Returns co-writer Michael Dougherty and
Hostel director Eli Roth will each write an episode of
Heroes: Origins, the upcoming spinoff prequel series to NBC's hit SF show, according to
The Hollywood Reporter.
Roth also will direct his episode of the series, which introduces new characters as they discover their extraordinary powers.
Roth and Dougherty, both
Heroes fans, join another big
supporter of the show, Kevin Smith, who also is set to write and direct
an episode of the Universal Media Studios-produced
Heroes: Origins.

There are people out there that question whether or not Heroes: Origins is a good idea. I say, absolutely, especially if you can get quality directors to helm one episode of the mini-series. Remember that episode of X-Files that Stephen King did? Or the episodes of the Office directed by Joss Whedon and J.J. Abrahms? Be it Bryan Singer directing an episode of House or Sean Astin directing an episode of Angel. I'll always be a fan of talented directors and writers sitting behind the wheel of my favorite television shows, even if it's only for one episode.

My personal favorite was when Tarantino directed one of the CSI season finales. Hands down the best episode of that show ever. As for Heroes Origins, I say bring it on, I wanna see it. So what did you think of the season premiere tonight?
I'd like to see the guys behind 'Shaun Of The Dead' or Robert Rodriguez do an episode...I think that'd be fun cause at least they seem like the kind to take a fun, although not too campy, turn on the Heroes franchise (shocking to say it's become a franchise).
Eli Roth I'm not too sure of...I think he was somewhat responsible for 'Death Proof' (Tarantino's contribution to 'Grindhouse') and that had just waaay too much dialogue and just no action whatsoever...and Tarantino I dunno...he's been pretty much a non-comic book person since he's snubbed a lot of comic book fans on how we're all pretty much mindless fanboys most of the time....which is only partially true....myself, I'm only a mindless fanboy 60% of the time...the other 40% is apparently stuck in tech support.
peace.
just wait until the nancy myers episode.
